Hey, my name's Mandy Good. I'm a sophomore at Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross, GA. I recently applied to study abroad my senior year in (French) Belgium through the American Field Service (AFS) international student exchange program. However, the program will cost around $11,000. I plan on earning the money through as many odd jobs as I can find, fundraising every chance I get, and donations from lovely people such as yourself. :)

Why Belgium you ask? Well, the chocolate of course... but I must admit, the European lifestyle and French language probably won't be so bad either. Living in another country for a year will be life changing. Not only will I get to experience a different culture, but I will get to learn the French language through complete immersion. Although leaving my friends and family here in the US will be tough, I am bound to make many new, life-long connections with all of the people I meet on my journey.

I am so excited at the opportunity to travel to another country and learn another language. Honestly, I am probably most excited about having a host family and experiencing their culture as if I had grown up in Belgium right alongside them. I have a feeling that my year abroad will be the best year of my high school experience. I thank all of you who offer support to me throughout this entire experience, from the day I daydreamed of it until the day I come back home changed forever.
